Students earn degrees
Kutztown University has conferred degrees for 480 students for the 2025 fall semester and 2026 winter session. Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish the requirements for graduation throughout the entire year. The cumulative grade-point average necessary for honors distinction is with cum laude, 3.4; magna cum laude, 3.6; and summa cum laude, 3.8.

Ramos inducted into honor society
Geomarie Ramos, of Whitehall, was recently elected to membership into the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania. Ramos is among approximately 20,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10% of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.
Phi Kappa Phi was founded in 1897 under the leadership of undergraduate student Marcus L. Urann, who had a desire to create a different kind of honor society: one that recognized excellence in all academic disciplines. Today, the society has chapters on more than 300 campuses in the United States and its territories. Its mission is to “cultivate a community that celebrates and advances the love of learning.”
Central Penn College
Samin earns dean’s list
Amna Samin, of Whitehall, has been named to Central Penn College’s dean’s list for the winter 2026 term. Samin is currently working toward an associate degree in applied science in surgical technology. To qualify for the designation, an undergraduate student must carry six or more credits and earn a GPA of 3.5 or better for the term.

Blose, Diehl named to dean’s list
Taylor Blose, of Catasauqua, and Birdi Diehl, of Coplay, were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2025 semester at Emerson College, Boston. Blose is majoring in writing, literature and publishing, and Diehl is majoring in journalism. The requirement to make this honor is a GPA of 3.7 or higher for that semester.

Muhlenberg College
Kaur inducted into honor society
Harmanjit Kaur, of Northampton, was one of 17 Muhlenberg College students who were inducted into the pre-health honor society Alpha Epsilon Delta March 29. A graduate of Northampton Area High School, Kaur is a member of the Class of 2028 studying biochemistry. Alpha Epsilon Delta is the national honor society for students who plan to enter the health professions. Student must have completed at least three semesters of pre-health coursework with at least a 3.2 GPA.

Rowland inducted into honor society
Andrew Rowland, of Coplay, was inducted into Phi Alpha Epsilon, the college’s honor society celebrating academic achievement and volunteer service. Rowland, a graduate of Parkland High School, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Physical Therapy in exercise science and physical therapy. To be eligible for this award, students must achieve a cumulative GPA of at least 3.600, complete at least 45 credits of coursework at LVC and achieve the bronze level of service hours (as determined by the office of service and volunteerism) after the fall semester before graduation. Inductees are formally welcomed into the society at a spring banquet.
Lebanon Valley College, founded in 1866, offers 50 majors in the health professions, sciences, education, business and digital media and the arts and humanities. Hands-on learning, internships and research are emphasized. LVC offers five direct-entry (bachelor’s to master’s) programs to streamline graduates’ entry into LVC graduate programs in business and the health professions.
