ACCHS Cheerleading to host bingo fundraiser April 19
The past few weeks at Allentown Central Catholic High School have been filled with many experiences, achievements and opportunities for students.
On March 19, students visited St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Gwynedd. The Vikings celebrated Mass, toured the campus, sampled food in the rectory and participated in a rosary walk, organ demonstration, and daytime prayer.
On March 27, the ACCHS Varsity Scholastic Scrimmage Team competed against 14 other high schools in Lehigh and Carbon counties at the regional tournament. The team tied for third place and reached the semifinal round. Way to go Vikes!
Some of our Vikings also donated their time March 28 to help the Cay Galgon Life House. They organized donations and completed other helpful tasks.
Students also had the opportunity to attend the annual Chrism Mass April 1 at the Cathedral of the St. Catherine of Siena, Allentown. Some students even sang alongside our Diocesan Choir for Mass.
The Holy Thursday, Seven Churches Pilgrimage April 2 was a great time for students to reflect in silent adoration at seven different churches in the area.
The ACCHS Middle School Band and Choir Experience, Side-By-Side Music Day, is scheduled for May 2. Students in grades sixth-eighth are encouraged to join and spend the day making music with our concert band and choir. The day begins 9 a.m. with the concert starting at 5 p.m. Be sure to register.
Our 2026 production of “FROZEN- The Broadway Musical” is officially sold out! We are looking forward to four great shows.
ACCHS Cheerleading is hosting a “Purses and Prizes Bingo” April 19 at St. Elizabeth Regional School in Whitehall. Doors open 1 p.m. with games starting 2 p.m.
ACCHS girls soccer will be hosting its Youth Soccer Summer Camp July 20-23. Sessions run 9-11 a.m. each day. The camp will be at St. Joseph the Worker Soccer Fields and is open to all students entering grades fourth-eighth. Sign up by July 3 for four fun days of working with ACCHS soccer players and coaches.
The Valkyrie Soccer Team is for seventh and eighth grade girls within the Diocese of Allentown who are interested in training at a higher level. The first parent session will be 6 p.m. April 26 at St. Joseph the Worker School, 1858 Applewood Drive, Orefield.
On March 30, freshman Madson Hoffert’s home was destroyed by a fire, leaving only the exterior walls standing. Thankfully, no one was injured, but the family has lost everything. Our Viking Family has organized several ways to support and help the Hoffert family during this difficult time. Students will have the opportunity to bring in monetary and gift card donations to help the family purchase items like clothes and food. Through April 17, ACCHS will also be hosting a clothing drive accepting both new or gently used clothing.
Please keep the Hoffert family in your thoughts and prayers.
