HI NEIGHBORS: The speakers program offered by First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, 2344 Center St., Bethlehem. It brings a variety of local speakers who share their interest and passion for topics like music, history, travel, and technology.
The programs, all on Mondays, include a social time at 9:30 a.m. with the presentation starting at 10 a.m. They are free and open to the public, and there is no registration needed.

GARDEN CLUB: The Bethlehem Garden Club is having a presentation on “Fling Into Spring Floral Design,” Presented by Anita Nagle on Thursday, April 16, at Advent Moravian Church, 3730 Jacksonville Road, Bethlehem. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. Program at 1 followed by club meeting and refreshments.
The Bethlehem Garden Club will plant a tree at Bethlehem City Hall on Thursday, April 24, at 1 p.m. in celebration of Arbor Day and America’s 250th anniversary. The community is warmly invited to attend this special occasion.
HERITAGE DAY: Bethlehem’s Colonial Industrial Quarter is hosting a free community festival, April 18, marking the return of an event that hasn’t been held since 2019. Historic Bethlehem Community Heritage Day runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at the 10-acre site, which is part of the nation’s newest World Heritage List location.
Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites is organizing the event with support from Historic Hotel Bethlehem, Tiller Private Wealth, Boyle Construction and other sponsors.
LEPOCO GATHERING: The Rev. Jon Stratton will be the featured speaker at the Annual Gathering of LEPOCO (the Lehigh-Pocono Committee of Concern) on Sunday, April 19. Father Jon’s presentation, “What Side Are You On?” will focus on love and hate.
Born and raised in small-town southern Illinois, Jon is an Episcopal priest who serves as the Dean and Rector of The Cathedral Church of the Nativity in Southside Bethlehem.
Scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m., the Annual Gathering will take place in the auditorium of the Bethlehem Steelworkers Union Hall, 53 E. Lehigh St., Bethlehem. The LEPOCO Peace Center is located in the lower level of the Steelworkers Hall.

EARTH DAY: Northampton Community College is hosting a free Earth Day community celebration at NCC’s Bethlehem campus, 3835 Green Pond Road, Bethlehem, Saturday, April 26, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. (rain or shine). Parking on site is free.
The family-friendly event will have educational speakers and sustainability discussions, live entertainment, local vendors, food trucks, hands-on activities for all ages, and more that highlights the importance of caring for our environment.

WRITER’S GROUP: Greater Lehigh Valley Writers’ Group (GLVWG) will hold its monthly meeting from 10 a.m. – noon on Saturday, April 25. The meeting is offered in a hybrid format — in-person at the Palmer Branch of the Easton Library, 1 Weller Place, Palmer, PA, and online via Zoom.
Membership business will be conducted from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. From 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m., author Ray Diskin Black will present “The Intersection of Poetry and Memoir.”
Diskin Black will present an afternoon workshop on the intersection of poetry and memoir from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. that will give participants the chance to take a deeper dive into this type of writing, ask questions, complete a brief exercise from a writing prompt focusing on memoir and poetry, and share that piece of writing with the group if they so choose.

COPS ‘N’ KIDS: The 18th Annual Cops ‘n’ Kids Celebration of Reading and the Arts and Sciences will be held April 25. The opening parade is set for 10:30 a.m. on the Greenway. Family fun for all ages with free books, activities, reading and craft stations, food, and entertainment from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration is not required.
