Northampton: Free shredding event scheduled
State Rep. Zach Mako, R-183rd, will be hosting a free shredding event 10 a.m.-noon April 18 at Northampton Banquet and Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. The event is to help safeguard residents against identity theft by having their personal documents securely destroyed.
Information also will be provided about consumer protection and identity theft. No RSVP is required.

Northampton Area School District’s community education spring classes are continuing.
Coed basketball with Matthew Heisler will be 10-11:30 a.m. April 18 and 25 at Lehigh Elementary School, Walnutport. You will have time to warm up, then be put into teams to play a friendly game of basketball. All abilities are welcome.
Yoga sculpt with Beth Sweetana is 7-8 p.m. April 21 and 28 at Siegfried Elementary School, Northampton. This energizing 60-minute fusion of strength and yoga is designed to sculpt and support your legs, arms and core. This class combines controlled strength intervals with flowing yoga sequences to improve stability, flexibility and functional strength — perfect for anyone looking to build muscle while maintaining mobility and mindfulness. All levels are welcome. Bring a mat and water.
Water aerobics with Susan Roberts is set for 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through May 14 in the Northampton Area Middle School natatorium. The makeup dates are May 19 and 21. This low-impact workout is kind to your joints. The instructor will explain all the exercises and utilize noodles, water dumbbells and water belts to get a total body workout. Locker rooms are available if needed.
Aqua Zumba with Tara Miller invites you to join the dance party in the water! The instructor will be outside the water, demonstrating the choreography to each song. Classes are 7:30-8:30 p.m. April 20 and 27 and May 4 and 11 at the NAMS natatorium. The makeup date will be May 18. No drop-ins are permitted. The class will be capped at 45 people.
Registration is at nasdschools.org under the community tab. Participants do not need to be NASD residents to join but must be at least 15 years old.

An all-you-can-eat pork and sauerkraut dinner, basket raffle and bake sale will be held 4-6:30 p.m. April 25 at Grace United Church of Christ, 902 Lincoln Ave. The basket drawing will be held 6:30 p.m.; you do not need to be present to win.
Dinners include pork, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, applesauce, dinner roll, dessert and beverages. Children’s dinners for ages 10 and under will be available with a hot dog. Dinners are for dine-in or takeout.
Tickets can be purchased at the door.
