CMS News: LCTI to visit Catasauqua Middle School fifth-grade students

Representatives from Lehigh Career and Technical Institute will be visiting with fifth-grade students April 16.

Course selection for the eighth-grade students moving up to high school will be April 16.

To close out PSSA spirit week, April 16 will be number day, and April 17 helps students be “RED”y for the test.

All grade levels will take the ELA PSSAs April 21-23 and the math PSSAs April 27 and 28.

Fifth- and eighth-grade students take the science PSSAs April 29 and 30.

The third-quarter Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports reward will be held April 17. Eligible students will play bingo.

Catasauqua Middle School families are encouraged to attend a kids and technology program, presented by Valley Youth House, to help youth navigate online safely, responsibly and with confidence. This four-session evening program is free and helps students and their families understand the appropriate use of technology, avoid dangerous situations online and learn about the risks of online gaming.

The sessions are held 5-7:30 p.m. April 20, 22, 27 and 29. Dinner will be served, and siblings are welcome.

Catasauqua Youth Athletic Association football and cheer sign-ups continue 6-7 p.m. April 21 at the CYAA fieldhouse, 890 Walnut St.

The Catasauqua Area School District Board of Education will hold committee meetings April 28 in the district administration office. Buildings and grounds will meet 5-6 p.m., athletics meets 6-7 p.m., and academics will meet 7-8 p.m.
