Catty in Bloom celebrates springtime in the borough

Whitehall Area Chamber of Commerce, part of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, partnered with the borough of Catasauqua to host the Catty in Bloom festival March 28 at the borough municipal complex, 90 Bridge St. The festival consisted of 14 vendors, an ice cream cart, a Burger Shack food truck, kids’ crafts and pictures with the Easter Bunny.

The festival also saw volunteers from Girl Scout Troops 6138 and 63062. Troop members and staff helped at the kids’ craft station and sold Girl Scout cookies on the second floor of the event.

According to Chloe Krempasky, WACC manager, the Chamber coordinated vendors for this community event and included a shuttle to bring people to and from Catasauqua Park and Playground following the Catasauqua and North Catasauqua fire departments’ annual egg hunt earlier that day. The borough provided the space for the event and some staff volunteers.

Krempasky said the goal of this event was to bring people together and celebrate the arrival of spring, which aligns with the Chamber’s mission to “stimulate the economy and improve the quality of community” through hosting events like seasonal festivals and ribbon-cutting ceremonies.

Another notable upcoming local event also being hosted in part by the Whitehall Chamber is the Catty Eats Fest, set for 11 a.m.-3 p.m. May 2 at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St.
