Par-Tee at the Emmaus Public Library

The Emmaus Public Library will host a “Meet the Artist” event 6-7 p.m. Feb. 26 with Margie Kavchok. The meet and greet will occur in the main room of the library. While there, feel free to enjoy the updated gallery with new art from the Lehigh Art Alliance.

Following the event, the Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs will be at the library for “Books and Barks.” All ages are welcome 6:30-7:45 p.m. the fourth Thursday of every month; come and read to the dogs.

The Emmaus Garden Club will embark on its first bus trip of the year March 2 to visit the Philadelphia Flower Show. The bus will leave 12:30 p.m. from Weis Market, 1220 Chestnut St., Emmaus. The per person cost includes deluxe motor coach transportation and entrance to the flower show. The bus will leave Philadelphia 7:30 p.m. and return to Emmaus that evening.

Lower Lehigh AARP will meet noon March 5 in the lower level of Macungie Memorial Hall at Macungie Memorial Park. New members are welcome. For more information, contact Dot at 610-967-3284.

The Emmaus Public Library will host an evening of mini-golf 6-9 p.m. March 6 at the library, 11 E. Main St., Emmaus.

The Emmaus Public Library welcomes adults ages 21 and older to the event. Join them for a round of 18-hole mini-golf inside the library, featuring complimentary light refreshments, live music by Larry and Dan Killingsworth, drinks and even one adult beverage.

There will be more adult beverages available for purchase, but the perks are included with your entry fee. There will also be a 50/50 cash raffle with prize raffles as well, and all proceeds benefit the library.

The very next day March 7, Emmaus Public Library will host a similar event for children of all ages 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a small entry fee, but children ages four and under play free.

The Cactus Blue food truck will be on-site for food purchases March 7 for the family event. Tickets for both events can be bought directly on the Emmaus Public Library’s website or stop by the library desk in person to purchase. Please note the library will be closed for regular business March 6 and 7.

The Emmaus Public Library will host Pi Day at the STEM Table in celebration of Pi Day March 14. Learn about the mathematical importance of Pi 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the library.

Lucky Bucks Bingo will take place 2-5 p.m. March 15. Tickets are on sale online at lehighvalleychamber.org/events. They sell out fast so get your tickets now.

The Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center will host a presentation and activity 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 19 at the Emmaus Public Library. Join Sarah and Melissa of the center to participate in an activity surrounding the Eastertide tradition of egg-scratching. You will be afforded the opportunity to scratch and decorate your own egg.

Later that day at the library, three raptors from Hawk Mountain will be visiting. Stop by the library 6:30-7:30 p.m. to learn about Hawk Mountain history, raptor migration, raptor adaptations and raptor identification. This event will take place in the main room of the library and registration through the library website is required. Walk-ins will only be welcome if space allows.

Also on March 19, the Emmaus Rotary Club will host a Centennial Celebration event 6-10 p.m. at the Steel Club, 700 Linden Ave., Hellertown.

At 7 p.m. March 19, the Emmaus Historical Society will hold a membership meeting and program at St. John’s Lutheran Church Parish Hall, 501 Chestnut St. Please note this is on a different day (Thursday) due to Lent. The program is titled “The Journey of the Liberty Bell to Allentown” and will be presented by the Lehigh County Historical Society. Programs are free and both members and nonmembers are welcome to attend.

As always, the Emmaus Historical Society and Museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Stop by for a visit and experience the beautiful displays which provide a glimpse into many facets of past community life.

In preparation for the holidays to come, the Emmaus Historical Society’s museum committee would appreciate all donations of vintage St. Patrick’s Day and Easter decorations. Feel free to call the office at 610-966-6591 to inquire if what you have is similar to what they are seeking in donation.
