With being in the middle of winter and the potential for inclement weather, Salisbury has been approved to use up to five Flexible Instruction Days for the 2025-2026 school year. In addition to a hazardous weather condition, Flexible Instruction Days may be used for a disease epidemic, a law enforcement emergency, the inoperability of school buses or other equipment necessary to the public school entity’s operations, damage to school buildings or another temporary circumstance rendering any portion of a school building unfit or unsafe for use. School closings or delays will be announced on WFMZ and shared through the Salisbury Township School District Thrillshare notification system. Parents and guardians should make sure the emergency contact information is up to date in the Parent Community Portal.

As noted in the January edition of the district community update, automated external defibrillators have been strategically placed in the buildings and shared spaces to support a fast, coordinated response to cardiac emergencies. AEDs are portable devices designed to evaluate a person’s heart rhythm and, if needed, deliver a shock to help restore a normal heartbeat. See the community newsletter for AED locations in each district building.

The technology department of the school district is holding a series of workshops for novice technology users. All sessions are free. To register, contact Mary Bishop at 610-792-2062, ext. 1000.
