Ronald R. Meckes, 80, of Kempton, died Dec. 31, 2025, at Cornerstone Living in New Tripoli. He was the loving husband of Irene F. (Knepper) Meckes for over 59 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Warren Meckes and the late Gladys (Remaly) Meckes Hill.

He was a 1964 graduate of Tamaqua High School. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1964-1966. He worked at the former Dietrich’s Milk Products in Reading, until retiring in 2012.

He attended Kutztown Bible Fellowship Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Eric R., of Port Clinton, Anthony (Stacey), of Kempton; grandchildren, Tyler (Danielle), Ashley (Andrew) Jordan, Jade; great-grandchildren, Dean and Liam; brother, Larry W. (Linda), of New Ringgold.

He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Julia; brothers, Keith and Darryl.

There will be a private graveside service held at a later date at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Allentown. Pastor Sandy Holbert will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Nester Funeral Home, Inc., in New Tripoli. Online condolences recorded at NesterFuneralHome.com.
