The Northampton wrestling team saw its first competitive action of 2026 Saturday at the Parkland Winter Duals. The K-Kids went 6-0 to claim the title with wins against Bangor (57-9), Hatboro-Horsham (53-16), Northwestern Lehigh (54-18), Council Rock South (46-18), and Abington Heights (55-17) in pool competition followed by a 41-20 win against Boyertown for the title.

The back end of Northampton’s EPC dual meet schedule is not very challenging, so this was an opportunity to assess their lineup’s potential 4 weeks before district duals. The K-Kids came into the event ranked 10th in AAA by PA Power Wrestling. Council Rock South was 7th. Boyertown was ranked 8th and had beaten Easton 34-23 early in December.

Head coach Joe Provini provided his assessment, “We wrestled well. We had two weeks off, not being in the Holiday Classic. It was a good time for us to get healthy. We’d been dealing with injuries and sickness, so we had two really good weeks of training. We got healthy. Today’s only the second time all year we’ve had our whole lineup. So getting our full lineup in, we’ve been telling these guys all year, if we come together, we can beat really good teams.”
