Joseph Earl David, 87, of Allentown, died peacefully Dec. 29, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.
A proud United States Navy veteran, he served his country with honor and dedication. He had a lifelong love for travel and the sea, enjoying cruises, adventures around the world and sharing stories from his journeys.
He loved a good buffet, being wined and dined, trying his luck gambling and spending time fishing and hunting. Above all, he adored being with his family.
He lived by his favorite saying, “One day at a time” and found comfort in the Serenity Prayer, which reflected his faith and strength.
He was a salesman of self-help and self-protection industry and was previously employed as a truck driver.
He was a member of the Jordan-Martin Lodge F&AM.
He is survived by his children, Alice, Lisa Ford, Joseph, Charles, Wendy; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alyssa Kreps; former wife, Carol J. (Bilger).
A memorial service to honor his life will be held 1 p.m. Jan. 9 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A visitation will be held noon to 1 p.m. before the service in the funeral home.
