Hornet girls wrestlers top PV, Stroudsburg

The Emmaus girls wrestling team improved to 6-1 this season with wins over Pleasant Valley and Stroudsburg next week.

The Hornets rolled over Pleasant Valley 53-21 last Friday with four pins and one technical fall to go along with four wins by forfeit.

Nitzana Jamaica (100), Brynn Koberlein (136), Haily Laible (142) and Rayne Shaw (235) all pinned their Pleasant Valley opponents, while Olivya Kroope (155) won by tech fall. Lillian Erbrick (106), Julianna Garcia (112), Calia Shotwell (124) and Sarah Lysinger (130) picked up wins by forfeit against the Bears.

The Hornets cruised to a 54-16 win over Stroudsburg Saturday, earning seven wins by fall in the match.

Jamaica (100), Erbrick (106), Julia Paung (118), Koberleing (136), Laible (142), Kroope (155) and Jocelyn Vargas (170) won their matches by fall against the Mountaineers. Petra Perez (190) and Shaw (235) got wins by forfeit against Stroudsburg.
