At the Dec. 2 Moore Township Board of Supervisors meeting, the public works department reported township leaf pick up was set to end Dec. 17.
The Moore Township Land and Environmental Protection Board noted an open space is up for preserving that will add about 17 acres to the large amount of preserved open space.
In the Community Days committee report, township Manager Stephen Nowroski noted the supervisors, along with the remaining Community Days volunteers, are considering reinventing the structure of the annual festival. The township’s recreation committee may assist in the restructure of the festival.
According to the township solicitor’s report, the animal ordinance amendment adjustment is ongoing. There is an alleged animal fecal accumulation on property issue that is to be addressed, among other pertinent issues.
Nowroski added an intergovernmental cooperation agreement with Bushkill and Plainfield townships is being developed to share services to work together. The earlier agreement was a handshake agreement of cooperation between the townships. This written agreement formalizes what already is taking place.
Under Nowroski’s report, a Pennsylvania Local Governmental Investment Trust account for the capital reserve fund was opened. This will include a PLGIT P-Card that has a cash back provision.
The PLGIT was created in 1981 to meet the short-term investment needs of local governments, school districts, municipal authorities and other types of governments in Pennsylvania. A PLGIT account offers a wide array of investment options and cash management services such as no minimum investment or balance requirements, unlimited checking and number of accounts, quick knowledgeable free phone support and more. Visit plgit.com for detailed information.
The PLGIT P-Card is an element of the procurement card program that provides a convenient method for municipalities to streamline their purchasing. The PLGIT P-Card is a MasterCard that works like a credit card but must be paid off each month. Employees can use these cards to make purchases, eliminating time-consuming steps in the traditional requisition process.
The municipality can set limits on how much an employee can spend or where they can make purchases.
In the police report, there were 275 total incidents reported during November with three arrests — one driving under the influence of alcohol, one unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and one trespassing. The total collected by the police department for police and accident reports during November was $165.
In the ambulance/fire department report, there were 69 total fire calls for the month of November, including three fires, eight trees down and five motor vehicle accidents. There were 106 ambulance calls.
The supervisors next meet 1 p.m. Dec. 19 for a special meeting to pass the 2026 budget and entertain any possible urgent business. The next regular monthly business meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Jan. 5, 2026.
Both meetings are held at the township municipal building, 2491 Community Drive. Visit mooretownship.org to review the meetings’ agendas.
