Daniel Terry to take helm at Hanover ES

The Bethlehem Area School District is pleased to announce, pending school board approval, the appointment of Daniel Terry as the new principal of Hanover ES, effective Jan. 5, 2026.

Terry brings nearly two decades of experience as an educator and school leader in BASD, most recently serving as the assistant principal at Northeast MS since 2022. In that role, he led the master scheduling process; oversaw the English Language Arts and Social Studies departments; conducted instructional observations and feedback cycles; and supported literacy initiatives as a Keys to Literacy–trained administrator.

Additionally, he served on the Middle School Program of Studies development team. Before his tenure at Northeast, Mr. Terry served as Dean of Students at Liberty HS during the 2021-22 school year, where he coordinated and implemented student schedules, led the building induction program on educator stamina and self-care, and advanced restorative practices as a certified Trainer of Trainers.

Terry began his BASD career in 2006 as a Social Studies teacher at Liberty High School, where he taught grades 9–11, developed curriculum, collaborated on student behavior plans, supported IEP and 504 management, mentored student teachers, and helped facilitate professional development for faculty.

“We are excited to welcome Mr. Terry as the new leader of Hanover Elementary School,” said Superintendent Dr. Jack Silva. “His enthusiasm, experience and dedication to students and families make him an excellent addition to the Hanover community.” Mr. Terry holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership (2018) and a Master of Science in Education with a specialization in Instructional Technology (2012) from Wilkes University. He also earned a Pennsylvania teaching certificate from Kutztown University and a bachelor’s degree in geography from Millersville University.

“I am honored to join Hanover Elementary School,” said Terry. “I look forward to working with our students, staff and families to continue building a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.”
