New Bethany has an opportunity to help set up and light luminarias for the 28th annual Luminaria Night at Triangle Park on Main Street in Emmaus. This is a great opportunity for students, work, social and community groups to volunteer together 3-5 p.m. Dec 13. The minimum age to volunteer is 16 or 12 with adult. Hellertown Historical Society is inviting volunteer seamstresses to join a new program that will recreate authentic colonial-period clothing. Food Pantry Support for East Side Food Pantry at Community Bike Works, Allentown. Stock shelves, organize all food for that day and assist clients 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, 3:30-6 p.m. Thursdays. Bilingual in Spanish is a huge plus. This annual holiday tradition for members of the Eastern PA Down Syndrome Center includes a buffet breakfast, a visit with Santa, crafts, music and time with other families. Volunteers are needed 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 6 to set up, decorate, cook/serve/clean up breakfast, help with crafts, organize visits with Santa and check in guests. Help bring extra smiles this holiday season by organizing a gift card drive for children in the community. All gift cards are in support of Holiday Hope Chests, a program coordinated by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley and are donated to our regional nonprofit partners who support youth in the community through their programs and services.
