Roughies Report: Holiday shop open weekends

Catasauqua Area School District families are invited to shop at the Biery House Holiday Shoppe and discover handmade treasures from more than 65 artisans this holiday season.

Open 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 7, the shop offers not only thoughtfully handcrafted items but also visits from Santa noon-2 p.m., family and pet photo opportunities with your camera, tours of the Biery House Museum and eat-in/takeout food.

Entry to the shop is free. The location is 8 Race St., Catasauqua; use GPS location 5 W. Union St., Catasauqua.

All proceeds benefit Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association and Mrs. Nothstein’s Helping Hands Fund.

Reminder: For the Thanksgiving holiday, CASD and Lehigh Career and Technical Institute will be closed from Nov. 27 to Dec. 1. Schools will reopen and classes will resume Dec. 2.

CASD Board of Education meetings are normally scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month; however, next month’s meeting will be the first Tuesday of the month. Directors will meet 7 p.m. Dec. 2 in the board room at the administrative offices, 201 N. 14th St.
