CMS News: School district closed through Dec. 1 for Thanksgiving holiday

Schools will be closed Nov. 27-Dec. 1 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The next Catasauqua Area School District Board of Education meeting is set for 7 p.m. Dec. 2 in the district administration board room, 201 N. 14th St.

The middle of the second-quarter marking period is Dec. 4, and the eighth-grade related arts cycle 2 ends Dec. 9.

The Catasauqua Middle School winter concert is planned for 7 p.m. Dec. 9. It will be held at Catasauqua High School, 2500 W. Bullshead Road, Northampton.

Field trips are set. Fifth-grade students will take a field trip to Pennsylvania Youth Theatre 9 a.m.-noon Dec. 12, and the Lifeskills students will visit PYT from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 11. Sixth-grade students will visit the Roxy Theatre, 2004 Main St., Northampton, 9 a.m.-noon Dec. 18.

The CMS parent teacher forum will host the school’s winter dance 6:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 12. Students need to bring their ID.

The next CMS PTF meeting is set for 6 p.m. Dec. 16 in the school’s media center.

Looking ahead: The December holiday break starts Dec. 22 and runs through Jan. 2, 2026. Classes resume Jan. 5, 2026.

CMS is in need of a building substitute. A valid Pennsylvania teaching certification is required.
