LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Tree lighting ceremony at Franko Park Nov. 29

Now that Daylight Saving Time is behind us and the days are shorter and most noticeably colder, we know the holidays are quickly approaching. The township is working diligently to collect all the leaves and holiday decorations are appearing.

Thanksgiving break is quickly approaching! Salisbury Township schools will be closed Nov. 26 through Dec. 1.

Salisbury Elementary School will hold parent teacher conferences Nov. 24 and 25. If you have students at SES and Salisbury Middle School, there are different dismissals for students these days. SES will dismiss students 1:15 p.m. for conferences Nov. 24 and students will not have school Nov. 25.

SMS students will be dismissed 12:25 p.m. Nov. 24 and 25.

Join us as Salisbury Township hosts its inaugural “Light up the Night” tree lighting ceremony at Franko Park 5-7 p.m. Nov. 29.

This will be a fun night with the community enjoying s’mores, hot chocolate, visits with live reindeer and meet and greet opportunities with Salisbury Township’s first responders.

Mark your calendars!

The annual Eastern Salisbury Fire Department Santa Run is scheduled Dec. 20.

Starting 9:30 a.m., Santa will be escorted throughout the township by Eastern Salisbury Fire Department personnel. Please stay tuned for how to track Santa and when to expect him near you.

The yard waste recycling drop off sites are open for a few more weeks.

The Franko Farm site will be open Nov. 20 and 22 and the Devonshire site will be open Nov. 24 and 29. The recycling centers are closed Nov. 27 for Thanksgiving.

Drop off center hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
