Agreement for 617 Krocks Road mixed use development

At the Nov. 6 Lower Macungie Board of Commissioners meeting, the bill list was approved along with several other items of interest.

There was an executive session about land acquisition and personnel held after the Oct. 27 workshop. The proposed land development project for 617 Krocks Road was discussed.

Resolution 2025-38 was approved with one commissioner voting no.

The resolution is about authorizing an indemnification agreement and HOP submission for the Krocks Road project.

Commissioner Ron Beitler chose to vote against it as traffic in the area is a problem. There is a possibility of a traffic light at North Krocks Road and Cetronia Road. This would help alleviate this traffic problem.

In other meeting business, Rick Daugherty, executive director of Lehigh Valley Active Life, sent a letter of thanks for a donation of $4,000.

Lehigh Valley Active Life is a senior center offering exercise classes, dances, movies, art classes, discussion groups and other activities.

State Rep. Gary Day, R-187th, sent a note of thanks for help with the Senior Expo held Oct. 2. The event reportedly welcomed more than 400 attendees and featured vendors and other valuable resources.

Anne Marie Dobson was appointed to the Lower Macungie Township Pension Committee and Budd Kahler was appointed to the township’s building code board of appeals.

Resolution 2025-51 was approved for the security release for the Mertztown Road residential development.

Resolution 2025-52 was approved for the security release and project closeout for the Hills at Lockridge Phase 1 B project.
