Students to perform in Philly 6abc Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day parade

Two Northwestern Lehigh Middle School eighth graders will soon step into the national spotlight as they perform in the 6abc Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia on Thanksgiving morning.

Emily Mahar and Emilia Bisignani were selected to join over 250 young performers in one of the nation’s oldest and most celebrated holiday parades.

Teacher Reid Clymer shared that both are active members of the school’s chorus and drama programs and were selected to participate in the televised holiday event last school year based on their musical ability in chorus and drama rehearsals along with their ability to quickly learn choreography.

The parade is known for its variety of entertainment including festive floats, talented performers, and celebrity guests.

Excitement levels rose a few weeks ago when 6abc announced special guest, our very own well-known local celebrity and former Tiger, Carson Kressley.

He’s a recurring personality often serving as a commentator or host, and has been a featured guest joining other hosts and celebrities at the event for many years.

Classmates, families, and staff are excited to watch everyone represent Northwestern Lehigh on such a big stage.

For Emily and Emilia, it’s sure to be a Thanksgiving they’ll never forget.

The 6abc Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia will air with a preshow starting at 8:30 a.m. and the parade at 9 a.m. on Nov. 27.

It can be watched live on 6abc, or streamed on Hulu and ABCNewsLive.
