The race for the field hockey postseason will come down to the final match of the season for Freedom, as they take on Liberty this week in the regular season finale.

The Patriots (7-9-1) will need a win or draw against Liberty (9-8) this week to officially clinch a District 11 postseason berth, even though they seem set up to qualify for the EPC tournament this weekend.

The Pates seem locked into the eighth seed of the EPC tournament, while Liberty will either finish as the sixth or seventh seed depending upon results.

The Hurricanes have already clinched a district berth by guaranteeing a .500 record and will use the EPC tournament as a primer for their district run.

The opening round of the EPC tournament gets underway this Saturday.
