Reckless endangerment

A purse containing a firearm was found at home improvement retailer Home Depot, 5877 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, Aug. 28, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The purse was returned to the owner.

Retail theft

A female suspect at retailer Ulta Beauty, 833 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, allegedly concealed 19 items in her purse and left the store, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The items, described as beauty oils and perfumes, had a total value of $645, according to authorities. The incident was reported Aug. 25.

Someone removed merchandise from retailer Ulta Beauty, 833 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Fogelsville. The incident was reported Sept. 9.

DUI

A motorist was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop near the intersection of South Main and Front streets in Alburtis borough 8:25 p.m. Aug. 29, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Burglary

A 33-year-old male, of Catasauqua, allegedly forced his way into a residence along South Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, harmed two people and did damage to the residence before fleeing with a child in his vehicle 10:36 a.m. Sept. 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Theft

Two people allegedly worked together to remove a skills game machine from the Coin Laundromat, Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 5 a.m. July 15, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The thieves ripped the machine from the rear of the business and left the area with the machine using an all-terrain vehicle, according to authorities.

A Whitetail Disposal trash container for residential use, valued at $50, was removed from a location along Saint Peters Road, Upper Milford Township, between Aug. 9 and Aug. 15, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Insulation install company Americhanvre, Wescosville, along with a resident of Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, learned a money wire transfer payment of $71,527.63 for completed work from the resident was not sent to the company, which was the correct recipient of the funds, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The electronic transfer was sent to a fraudulent account, according to authorities. The incident was reported June 6.

Theft by deception

A resident of Hidden Valley Road, Lower Macungie Township, withdrew a large sum of money and scammers were coordinating a pickup time by phone when they were told authorities were on their way, Aug. 6, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The scammers hung up the call, according to authorities.

Crashes

A Macungie motorist was hurt when her sport utility vehicle crashed into a single-family house at 6168 Sauterne Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 5:46 p.m. Sept. 4, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The crash reportedly caused a house fire. According to authorities, the motorist lost control of her vehicle and was charged with violation of driving at a safe speed. The resident of the house and the resident’s pet cat got out of the house and were not injured. The driver was taken by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital. Macungie Ambulance also responded.

An Emmaus motorist escaped serious injury when his pickup truck crashed into a vehicle along Dillingersville Road, Lower Milford Township, 5:52 a.m. Sept. 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was traveling southbound when he lost control of his vehicle, drove off the road and crashed into a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 3900 block of Dillingersville Road. The motorist refused transport to a medical facility for treatment. Both vehicles were towed from the crash, according to authorities. Mechanics Plus Towing also responded.

A Lehighton motorist and her two young passengers escaped injury when their compact sport utility vehicle struck a sign along state Route 309 in Lower Macungie Township, Aug. 20, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was southbound near the area of Interstate 78 East at approximately 6:47 p.m. when the vehicle went off the road while the driver was negotiating a left hand curve, according to authorities. Yocum Towing also responded.

A Macungie motorist escaped injury when his vehicle went off the road and struck an embankment in Lower Milford Township Aug. 20, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was traveling north on Kings Highway, near Palm Road, at approximately 3:16 p.m. while it was raining. The motorist lost control and went off the left side of the road and crashed into the embankment. Mechanics Plus Towing also responded.

A sport utility vehicle was slightly damaged when a sign fell from a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation utility vehicle and hit it while the vehicle was moving along Chestnut Street/state Route 29 near Beck Road, Upper Milford Township, at approximately 12:28 p.m. Aug. 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A stop/slow traffic paddle sign fell from the PennDOT truck and hit the front of the SUV. No one was hurt, according to authorities.

Six people were hurt in a three-vehicle crash along South Cedar Crest Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 12:03 p.m. Sept. 6, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville, when one vehicle struck another in a head-on collision, forcing both vehicles into a third vehicle. The first vehicle was southbound on South Cedar Crest Boulevard in the right lane while there was heavy traffic in both directions. The second vehicle was northbound. While traveling toward stopped and slowing traffic in the southbound lane, the first vehicle traveled into the northbound lane and directly into the second vehicle. The collision pushed those vehicles into the third vehicle, which was in the southbound lane. The driver of the first vehicle, the driver and front passenger of the second vehicle and the driver of the third vehicle and two passengers in that vehicle were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital for treatment. Macungie Ambulance and Getz Towing also responded.

A motorist and his passenger escaped injury when their vehicle crashed onto its side in the 4400 block of Reservoir Hill Road, Lower Macungie Township, 8:27 p.m. Aug. 9, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was traveling southbound “at a high rate of speed,” according to authorities, when the driver lost control on a left curve and the vehicle struck a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to flip onto the passenger side. Getz Service Center towed the vehicle from the crash scene.
