Robert J. Hardner Sr., 90, of Schnecksville, died Oct. 3, 2025, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Marie L. (Zwetolitz) Hardner. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Florian and Isabella (Kolowitz) Hardner. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during a peacetime era.

He was an assembly line technician at Mack Trucks, Inc. in Allentown for 35 years before retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield and the former St. Francis Society in Allentown where he held various offices.

He is survived by children, Robert J. Jr. (Janet), of Perkasie, Michael J. (Lydia), of Stanfordville, N.Y., Jane M. Frantz (Maynard), of Kunkletown; sisters, Joan Oplinger, of Allentown, Barbara Heinz, of Bethlehem; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; companion, Barbara Kisly, of Slatington.

He was predeceased by brothers, Florian and John.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Oct. 9 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. (Fr.) Nikolai R. Brelinsky officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30 a.m.–10:30 a.m. before the service.
