Carol A. Bilger, 70, of Northampton, died Sept. 27, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Michael Bilger.
Born in Phillipsburg, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Reta (Riley) VanEmburg.
She graduated from Phillipsburg High School.
She went to work as a bank teller at Valley Federal for a few years. Her working career continued at AM Best Insurance. In her 32 years there, she worked many titles, most recently project supervisor. She also worked for The Morning Call, delivering papers for 20 years.
She is survived by two sons, Justin Volk of Northampton and Brian Volk of Nazareth; a daughter, Steph Weaver; four grandchildren, Zack Volk, Anthony Weaver, Justin Volk Jr. and Riley Volk; a brother, Robert VanEmburg and wife Cheryl; five stepchildren, Tim and wife Rachel, Bill, Dede Rathburn, Amy Robinson and Amanda Rowe; and 18 stepgrandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Jean McCray.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
