Trojan girls soccer team posts three shutout wins

The Parkland High School girls soccer team stayed unbeaten with wins last week in all three of its games.

Last Tuesday, Sept. 16, the Trojans defeated Liberty 7-0. Two days later, Parkland beat Bethlehem Catholic 8-0 and then finished the week with a 3-0 victory over Whitehall on Saturday.

In the win over the Hurricanes, the Trojans scored three goals in the first half and four in the second half. All seven goals had a different scorer as Kennedy Perkins, Delilah Zaiter, Mackenzie McNeely, Isabella Hallal, Keira Shearer, Megan Tarantino and Jummai Umaru all found the back of the net.

Parkland outshot Liberty 13-1 and had 10 corner kicks to the Hurricanes one. Hanna Hertzog finished with one save in net.

In the victory against the Golden Hawks, the Trojans recorded three goals in the first half and added another in the second half.

Hallal scored all four goals for the offense, which finished with 11 shots and did not allow one defensively.

Against the Zephyrs, Hallal, McNeely and Perkins each found the back of the net once with Hallal adding an assist.

Parkland outshot Whitehall 16-0 and held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Parkland, which improved to 9-0-1 overall and 9-0-1 in the conference, was at Pocono Mountain East Wednesday afternoon and host Central Catholic Friday evening in two EPC matches.

The Trojans then welcome Council Rock South to town for a nonconference game Saturday morning.
