The Northwestern Lehigh cross country teams competed in the DeSales Invitational Saturday, with the Tiger girls team finishing 17th overall and the boys team matching it with a 17th-place showing.
Rosie Nestor was the highest Northwestern varsity finisher, taking seventh place in the girls race, followed by teammates Katie Furman (81st), Ava Smedstad (132nd), Charlotte David (152nd) and Amber Carl (161st) to round out the top five. Emily Fornwalt (162nd) and Annie Kline (179th) also competed for Northwestern in the varsity race.
In the boys race, Noah Griffith led the Tigers with a 75th-place finish. Teammates Brady Furman (89th), Jonathan Fornauf (98th), Issac Grubb (108th) and Kieran Baker (108th) rounded out the team score. Michael Richards (136th) and Henry Wade (163rd) also competed for Northwestern at DeSales.
Both Northwestern teams went 2-1 at a Colonial League multi-team meet last week. Both teams beat Pen Argyl and Bangor, but lost to Wilson at the meet.
Nestor finished third in the girls race, with Katie Furman (12th), Smedstad (23rd), Fornwalt (25th) and David (26th) rounding out the team score.
In the boys race, the Tigers were led by Griffith and Brady Furman, who finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Fornauf (13th), Grubb (14th) and Baker (17th) were also part of the team scoring for Northwestern.
