The Northwestern Lehigh golf team is nearing the end of the regular season, with one match on the schedule this week before next week’s Colonial League Championships, scheduled for Monday at The Steel Club.
The Tigers dropped to 7-4 recently with losses to three of the league’s top teams. They fell 412-425 to Moravian Academy, 346-414 to Southern Lehigh and 429-430 to Notre Dame. The Spartans (9-0), Crusaders (9-1) and Lions (7-1) were the top three teams in the Colonial League standings with one match remaining.
In the loss to Moravian on Monday, Mason Malosh shot 81 to lead the Tigers. Cole Dynda (82), Skylar Kern (84), Jake Kozlowski (86) and Gracie Scheffler (92) were also part of the Northwestern team score.
Moravian had three players shoot 80 in the match and two others cards 86.
Dynda had the Tigers’ low round last week against Southern Lehigh, firing a 75 at Olde Homestead. Kern (83), Kozlowski (83), Malosh (85) and Wagner Stracco (88) made up the rest of Northwestern’s top five.
In the one-point loss to Notre Dame, Scheffler led the team with an 82, followed by Kern (85), Dynda (86), Kozlowski (88) and Chandler.
The Crusaders’ Simon Weed earned medalist honors in the match with a 78.
