The Northwestern cross country teams competed in a meet hosted by Salisbury last week.

The Tiger boys team went 3-1 at the meet, while the girls team was 2-2.

Noah Griffith (18:42) led the Tigers with an 11th-place finish, followed by teammates Jonathan Fornauf (17th, 19:15), Michael Richards (19th, 19:17), Brady Furman (21st, 19:31) and Isaac Grub (23rd, 19:42)g.

Southern Lehigh’s Miles Etters broke the tape in the boys race at 16:55.

In the girls race, state champ Virginia Kraus (Saucon Valley) set the pace and finished in 18:05, nearly two minutes faster than second-place finisher Caelee Lenhart (Southern Lehigh) at 19:55.

Northwestern’s Rosie Nestor was just behind Lenhart, finishing third at 20:00.

Katie Furman (20th, 24:14), Ava Smedstad (26th, 24:44), Amber Carl (32nd, 26:18) and Charlotte David (33rd, 26:28) made up the rest of the Tigers’ top five at the meet.
