The Parkland High School boys soccer team has continued its early season surge as it won all three of its games last week, all in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference.
The Trojans began the week last Tuesday, Sept. 16, with a 3-0 shutout victory at Liberty. Two nights later, Parkland scored the most goals it has in a game this season with an 8-0 win overt Bethlehem Catholic.
The Trojans finished the week with a 4-1 home win against Whitehall.
In the win over the Hurricanes, Parkland scored a goal in the first half and then doubled it in the second half. Alex Hurwitz led the offense with two goals and Lincoln Fritz tallied the third goal. Talmage Pollard contributed an assist. Andrew Staples finished with two saves in net.
In the victory against the Golden Hawks, all eight goals had a different scorer as Pollard, Ryan Bender, Anthony Bautista, Daichi Yamashita, Zach Slenker, Fritz, Evan Smith and Jacob Tawfik each found the back of the net once. Pollard recorded two assists, while Chris Park, Bender, Eddie Curelar, Austen Alvarez Yong, Matt Vindel and Jose Canella all contributed an assist. Goalie Matt Feiller did not face a shot.
The game with the Zephyrs saw Bautista score twice and Fritz and Pollard record one goal. Pollard, Bender and Zayan Tasir all had an assist. Parkland outshot Whitehall 18-1.
Parkland, which is now 11-0 overall and 11-0 has games this week against Allen, Pocono Mountain East and Conestoga.
