The Emmaus field hockey team opened the 2025 season with three straight wins while allowing just one goal in those games.
The season started on Aug. 25 with a rematch of last fall’s league and district finals against Easton, which were both won by Emmaus.
The Hornets took this year’s first meeting with the Red Rovers by a 5-0 score.
Sarah Palazzo scored twice against Easton, while Morgann Orbono, Madi Lenig and Sadi Nawarynski also scored goals. Assists went to Marissa Gigliott (2), Alex Jansen (2) and Lenig.
The Hornets allowed seven Easton corners while earning six of their own. Goal keeper Emily Romano and the EHS corner defense kept the corners from turning into goals.
Lenig tallied a hat trick in the Hornets’ 13-0 win over Bethlehem Catholic on Aug. 27, while also notching three assists in the game.
Also scoring goals in the win were Avery Burnett, Nawarynski, Gigliotti, Riley Povilaitis, Ella Horner, Ady Truckenmiller, Palazzo, Addison Povilaitis, Kate Rainford and Jensen. Gracie Huffer and Horner had two assists each, while Gigliotti, Jensen and Rainford had one each.
Emmaus outshot the Golden Hawks 26-0 and earned an 18-0 advantage in penalty corners.
The Hornets beat Northampton 7-1 last week for their third win of the season.
Three players had two goals each with Orobono, Riley Povilaitis and Addison Povilaitis all finding the back of the cage twice against the Kids. Burnett also scored in the win.
