Astound/RCN notified the township of upgrades to the services in the area. The upgrade to fiber network brings faster speeds for the Internet and better connectivity. The system is supportive of remote work, 4K streaming, used for smart homes and certain gaming.
The updated sewer tapping fee and new sewer district was discussed.
The zoning ordinance amendments were presented by planner Nathan Jones. Working with the planning commission, the goal is to clarify information already a part of this ordinance and make language clearer to help streamline the process. Ultimately, this process should help to save money for all. It will also aid with issuing permits and giving out violations.
Definitions are to be clear and concise. This will make interpretations easier.
Certified mailings will no longer be used; first class mail will be used to send out important information.
Some of the issues mentioned in the zoning ordinance include signage. Buildings will only face front on area roadways and have one sign in the front and one on the side. Standing signs have the possibility of using dimming software. Inflatables are also included in the ordinance.
Parking was mentioned including the parking of large vehicles on public parking lots. Any vehicle over 5 tons is not permitted to park on public lots.
The ordinance also includes the requirement for every parking lot to have an electrical charging spot for every 50 regular spots.
If parking lots are used for inventory, parking must still be available.
