EHS names Student of the Week
Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets
A. My mother Melody, my father Jason, my brother Tyler and my dog named Scout.
Q. Do you have any specific goals you will pursue this academic year?
A. The biggest thing I want to do this school year is to make the most of my last year with my best friends and to keep working hard in and out of school to help me achieve my future goals.
Q. What is your favorite class at Emmaus High School? Why?
A. My favorite class at Emmaus High School was Crafts 2. It was so different then all the other classes I took. I was able to do something I enjoyed without worrying about tests or homework.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. National Art Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society, Principal’s Honor Roll, Second Place at State Science Fair and Science Olympiad.
Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?
A. I have run varsity cross-country and track and field since I was a freshman. I’m also involved in many clubs, including the bake club, which I started to raise money for charities. These activities have taken me out of my comfort zone and through them I have grown as a person and met amazing people.
Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?
A. While I can’t pinpoint one large challenge I have had to overcome, I think every challenge no matter the context or size, has helped me grow and helps shape me into the person I am becoming.
Q. At this time, what are your plans for the future beyond high school?
A. I want to attend a four year university, but I have not yet decided what degree I want to pursue. I’m currently considering the STEM direction.
Q. If you could spend an evening conversing with an historically significant person, whom would you choose? Why?
A. This past academic year I did a report on Helen Keller. Through my research I learned about all the seemingly impossible challenges she overcame and social and political changes she initiated. For these reasons I would be beyond grateful to be able to spend an evening with her.
Q. For what would you like to be remembered?
A. I would like to be remembered as someone who worked hard to be a good teammate, classmate and friend.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. I think the biggest piece of advice I can give is one that I have heard a lot going into my senior year – to live in the moment because the past is gone and the future is out of your control.
