Roast beef dinner at Jordan UCC, 1837 Church Road, Allentown, 4-7 p.m. There is a cost; children under 6 will enjoy a meal at no charge.
Oct. 4
A Crazy About Quilting Celebration, presented by the Crazy Quilters Quilt Guild, is being held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 4601 Tilghman St., Allentown. See a display of over 100 quilts and quilted items, the sale of handmade quilted articles and recycled “stash” items and quilting demonstrations. Food will also be available. Oct. 6
Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, will take orders for Kauffman Chicken Barbecue dinners. The dinners will include a half chicken, baked potato, applesauce and roll with the dinner. Pickup will be 4-6 p.m. Oct. 11. To place an order for chicken only, call Cindy at 610-554-0510. Also available are apple dumplings cooked fresh by church members with or without brown sugar syrup. Your apple dumpling order can be picked up together with your chicken order. Apple dumpling orders without the chicken dinner can be picked up 3-5 p.m. Oct. 10. Trojan Alumni Varsity Clubs membership meeting 6 p.m. at the HOPS-Fogelsville Hotel, 7921 Main St., Fogelsville. Ed Olson Sr., Parkland girls head basketball coach and Ed Olson Jr, Parkland boys head basketball coach will be the main speakers. There is a cost for the meal.

Parkland High School Class of 1975 50th reunion 6:30 p.m. at Madeline’s Restaurant, 1250 Turnstone Drive, Fogelsville. Oct. 16
The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Center, 4350 Broadway, Allentown, is hosting its third annual flu shot clinic 2-6 p.m. They will be giving flu vaccines for children six months and older and adults. They will also be offering tours of the Forensic Center. Hot dogs and light refreshments will be served.
Oct. 19
The Greater Allentown CROP Hunger Walk event day registration begins 1 p.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 140 S. Ott St., Allentown. The walk begins 1:30 p.m. Walkers may choose either a 10K route or a “Golden Mile” route. Walkers who raise $150 or more by Oct. 19 earn a free T-shirt. T-shirts also will be available for purchase on the day of the event. The CROP Hunger Walk is an intergenerational fellowship and service event that benefits those who are struggling in the aftermath of floods, fires, droughts and other disasters throughout the United States and the world. Nov. 1
Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, will be holding its legendary all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatball dinner 4-7 p.m. The meal includes two huge homemade meatballs, a salad, drink and homemade dessert. Take out is also available. Tickets are available at the door. The is a cost for adults and children 5-12 years old. Children under 4 are free. Handicap accessible if needed at end of church, lower level.
