Charles J. Donches Jr., 85, died Aug. 13, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Charles J. Sr. and the late Helen (Bartos) Donches. He was the husband of Joanne (Transue) Donches.
He graduated from Moravian College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree.
He was in the U.S. Air Force from 1958-1963, stationed in Alaska, South Carolina and other bases.
He was an Information Systems Auditor for Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He worked at IU International and Computer Aid before retiring to Florida.
He volunteered at Special Equestrians Inc. therapeutic riding in Fort Myers, with children and adults with disabilities. He served on various committees in Bethlehem. He participated in redesigning the Legends Golf Club golf courses in Florida. He sank three holes in one.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Krista Glenn (Neal) and a son, Charles Ill (Kristen); four grandchildren, Megan, Rachel, Max and Maddy; four siblings, Helen, Steve (Sally), Margaret and Diane Amore (Gregg); nephews; nieces; and cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph; and a nephew, Thaddeus.
