Catasauqua: Holy Trinity Lutheran Church to hold basket raffle Oct. 3, 4

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., is holding a basket raffle 4-7 p.m. Oct. 3 and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 4. Tickets will be drawn Oct. 4, and winners will be notified by phone.

All proceeds will benefit the Catasauqua Community Cares Program. C3P is dedicated to supporting Catasauqua Area School District families by providing essential resources for food, winter coats and school supplies.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is continuing its bag sale on everything in the shop through Oct. 11.

There is a cost to fill a large brown paper bag or a large white plastic kitchen bag. There are many Halloween items available for sale, including costumes.

The thrift shop will be closed Oct. 13-15 for cleaning and changeover of clothing from summer and spring to fall and winter. The shop will reopen with all new clothing Oct. 16.

Stop in 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. The shop accepts donations of good, used, clean clothing, household items and toys during open hours. Proceeds from the thrift shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

The Catasauqua/North Catasauqua Halloween parade will be held 7 p.m. Oct. 22. The parade committee is welcoming private donations of any size, from businesses and/or people who live in the boroughs, to help defray the cost of marching bands attending the parade and prize money awards.

The parade is organized by private citizens, and the committee does not receive funds from either borough to organize and operate the parade. Checks can be made payable to Catasauqua/North Catasauqua Halloween parade and mailed to North Catasauqua Borough, c/o the Halloween parade, 1066 Fourth St., North Catasauqua, 18032.
