Phoebe Terrace holds 9/11 remembrance ceremony with residents

The Terrace at Phoebe Allentown, 1940 W. Turner St., Allentown, was the site for a remembrance ceremony for the attacks on the World Trade Center Sept. 11, 2001.

Members of Allentown’s West End fire station were invited to share in the program Sept. 11.

The program was opened with an invocation and address by Staff Chaplain Chera Wertz.

Residents were asked to share their personal memories of 9/11 with the attendees and visiting firefighters.

Phoebe volunteer Cindy Sandt was emotional as she tried to thank the Allentown Fire Department firefighters as well as recall her memories of 9/11.

She brought her “Best Friend” Rupert, a 1 1/2 year old papillon with her for emotional support.

All attendees were invited to enjoy coffee and doughnuts following the ceremony.
