During the Sept. 4 Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners meeting, bids were considered for sodium chloride deicing salt. Eastern Salt Company had the lowest bid. This is only if needed as the township is fully stocked right now.

Resolution 2025-49 was approved for a right of way on Orchard Road. With the permanent closure of Orchard Road, the township needs a cul-de-sac on the north side of the tracks. This is needed for a place to turn around.

The Sewage Facilities Module was approved for the Western Lehigh Development at 1500 Trexlertown Road.

The minutes from the Aug. 21 meeting as well as the bill list were approved. Details can be found on the Lower Macungie website at lowermac.com.

Meetings generally held in the township building are temporarily being held at the community center due to maintenance on the building’s elevator. This will continue through the end of September.

Lower Macungie Road will be closed for two weeks in mid-October for the turnpike bridge construction. A detour will be posted.

Commissioners reminded residents to not pay taxes through the Lower Macungie bill paying option. This service is only for utilities payment. Paying this way makes it more difficult for the business office.
