The Whitehall Zephyrs varsity football team will travel across the bridge to Northampton to take on the Konkrete Kids Sept. 19, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. Help cheer for the Zephyrs as they battle the Kids.

The first day of fall — the autumnal equinox — is Sept. 22. The leaves in the neighborhood and elsewhere are starting to fall.

This is a great time to utilize the Ironton Rail Trail to view the changing colors of the leaves and enjoy your favorite pumpkin-flavored treat!

The IRT will be holding a fall historical walk 9 a.m. Oct. 25, beginning on the Whitehall Parkway at the barn at 4041 Chestnut St. The walk is approximately four hours and is a distance of 7 miles.

The pace is leisurely, and there will be stops to view buildings, historical sites and landmarks. Participants should bring water, a camera and binoculars. The leaders of the hike are Bob Abbott and Ray Bieak.
