Fullerton: WHS Class of 1978 plans celebration

The Whitehall High School Class of 1978 will be having a 65th birthday celebration noon-7 p.m. Sept. 27 at the pavilion at Egypt Memorial Park, Hillcrest Lane and Curt Simmons Drive.

There is a cost of $10 per person, which includes hamburgers, hot dogs, snacks, water and music. Payment will be collected that day.

The event is BYOB for wine only — no glass bottles. Attendees are asked to bring a covered dish or dessert to share.

Whitehall Active Community Center, 2301 Pine St., will hold bingo 1 p.m. Sept. 28. Doors open noon.

Bingo will continue with tricky tray, 50/25/25 raffle, piggy number, lightning game, etc. There will be refreshments for purchase.

Bring a donation for Whitehall Food Pantry — a nonperishable food item, pet food or paper product such as facial tissues, paper towels or toilet paper — and receive a strip of specials to be played on the first four specials.

Reserving seats is not necessary, but if you want to do so, call or text 610-533-1357.

St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., will host its 16th annual basket social, scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Oct. 10, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 11 and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 12.

There will be baskets and gift cards valued at $35 or more, and there will be several big ticket items of gift cards, services, items and prizes worth more than $75. Four lucky prizes will have a $50 cash bonus tucked away inside.

Preordered food will be available for pickup all weekend, and limited food items will be available for purchase.

Buy tickets after all Masses Sept. 27 and 28 or Oct. 4 and 5 to get your free bonus tickets. You can also purchase tickets 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the parish office or mail your request to the church.
