Catasauqua: St. Mary’s Church to hold Oktoberfest
St. Mary’s Church, 122 Union St., will hold its annual Oktoberfest 5-9 p.m. Sept. 20 in the parish center and outside on Union Street if weather permits. Robbie Lawrence and the Steelworkers will be on stage all evening playing your favorites.
The kitchen will be selling German favorites, such as bratwurst, krainerwurst, pulled pork, spaetzle, chicken schnitzel and more. German beer, along with everyday favorites, will be available for purchase as well.
The parking lots will be open, and parking is available at Rock Hill (top of Union Street, off Howertown Road or Second Street) or behind the Biery House along the towpath (bottom of Union Street, off Front Street).
Admission is free; however, no outside food or drinks are permitted.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will have a half-price sale from Sept. 22 to Sept. 27. There will also be a bag sale on everything in the shop Sept. 29-Oct. 11.
There are different costs to fill a large brown paper bag and to fill a large white plastic kitchen bag. There are many Halloween items available for sale including costumes.
The shop will be closed Oct. 13-15 for cleaning and the seasonal changeover of clothing. The shop will reopen with all new clothing Oct. 16.
The shop is happy to accept donations of good used clean clothing, household items and toys during store hours. Regular store hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Proceeds are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

The next J4 committee meeting will take place 7 p.m. Sept. 23 at North Catasauqua Borough Hall, 1066 Fourth St.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Pine St., will be holding a basket raffle 4-7 p.m. Oct. 3 and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 4 at the church. Tickets will be drawn Oct. 4, and winners will be notified by phone.
All proceeds will benefit Catasauqua Community Cares Program. C3P is dedicated to supporting Catasauqua Area School District families by providing essential resources for food, winter coats and school supplies.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner fundraiser Oct. 11 at the church. The seatings are set for 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The menu includes spaghetti with meat sauce, tossed salad, bread and butter, beverages and desserts.
The cost is by donation, and reservations are required. Call Linda at 610-262-1654.
Proceeds benefit Ripple Community Inc. RCI nurtures the community and connection in Allentown by fostering a sense of community and cultivating connections across social boundaries.
