LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Public Library of Catasauqua: Fun programs continue at Public Library of Catasauqua

The summer is almost over, sadly, but there is still time to enjoy the Catasauqua library before you have to put away all your white clothes after Labor Day.

Our summer reading program has ended, but don’t forget we’ll still be hosting our regular reading and fun program for kids and their caregivers 4 p.m. every Thursday, beginning Sept. 4.

The adult book club is reading “Tell Me Everything,” by Elizabeth Strout for its September session. It is an NPR-recommended book.

The club meets the first Wednesday of every month, which will be 3 p.m. Sept. 3. Feel free to come by for a nice discussion, and we’ll help you get a copy of the book if you need one.

You can even help pick the next book!

The library’s Minecraft Club is going strong. It starts 11 a.m. every other Saturday, but we might be expanding soon! The next session is pushed back until after the Labor Day holiday and is scheduled for Sept. 6.

It’s free, and no previous experience is necessary. An expert will be on hand to teach and help troubleshoot. The club is for ages 8-18.

Those with their own accounts and portable devices are invited to stop by and join the group fun on the shared server. Players might have to take turns if there are more patrons than available accounts.

We are in the final weeks of the books versus movies survey and raffle. Stop by before the end of August for a chance to win a gift card donated by Pie’s On Pizza.

***

The Keep Them In Stitches fiber arts group meets 5:30 p.m. Mondays.

Our MakerSpace crafting center is always available for your creative endeavors. Stop by or call for more information.

The library staff, board members and Friends of the Library group would like to express their sincere thanks for a successful fundraising yard sale, held recently at Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church. The turnout was excellent, and we were able to raise money to help us continue to serve our great community.

If you see a book you want to read on the list below, just call or visit our website to place a hold on a book — once you have a library card, that is. Our selection of new titles changes every few weeks, so stop in to check out what’s available on our display at the front of the library.

If you want to suggest a book for us to purchase for the library community, don’t hesitate to talk to us or send us an email at catasauquapl@cliu.org. As always, we can get untold thousands of other items from dozens of other regional libraries in a matter of a day or so.

Come in, call or check out our catalog online. We’ll help you any way we can.
