Aug. 21

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran, 1028 Church St., Fogelsville, will hold a food truck and bake sale 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Vince’s Cheesesteak Food Truck will be in the church parking lot. Stop by and support this fundraiser. For each sandwich sold, $1 will go to St. John’s general fund. They will also have pies and baked goods for sale. For more information, call 610-395-5535.

Aug. 22

The Fran Mayville Duo performs 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Triangle Park, Emmaus, as part of the Tunes in the Triangle free summer concert series.

Aug. 22-24

The 47th annual Wheels of Time Rod and Custom Jamboree is scheduled at Macungie Memorial Park, 50 Poplar St., Macungie. The show opens 7 a.m. each day. Donations of food items for local food banks will be accepted.

Jewish Community Center of the Lehigh Valley, 702 N. 22nd St., Allentown, in partnership with Steinmetz Family Farm’s goats and instructor will hold a 1-hour beginner yoga class 10-11 a.m. Contact Danielle Brown at dbrown@lvjcc.org for more information.

Aug. 23

The Sanctuary at Haafsville presents a Cheesesteaks and Beer fundraiser with Vince’s Famous Cheesesteaks Food Truck noon to 6 p.m. at Shangy’s, 6480 Alburtis Road, Macungie. Vince’s will donate $1 for every sandwich sold and Shangy’s will match Vince’s donation. Shangy’s will also be providing beer samples. Eat good food, drink great beer and meet the Sanctuary’s rescued cats and dogs for adoption.

Aug. 30

Upper Macungie Township’s free Concert in the Park series will continue with its Bourbon and Blues concert 6 p.m. at Grange Park, 360 Grange Road. Enjoy a perfect blend of soulful, bluesy music and smooth whiskey cocktails.

Concerts will be held monthly through October and will showcase outdoor live music.

Sept. 2

Emmaus Garden Club meeting will take place noon at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 418 Elm St., Emmaus. Entrance at the back of the building/gymnasium. Parking at Bethel and St John’s UCC at 139 N. 4th St.,

Program will be “Edible Landscaping” by Master Gardener Andrew Neely. Neely will present a program on how to incorporate fruit-bearing plants into your landscape in an aesthetically pleasing way. He will focus on plant location, selection, and many other considerations involved when using edible plants in a home’s landscape. All are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

The Trojan Alumni Varsity Club’s September membership meeting will be held 6 p.m. at the HOPS-Fogelsville Hotel, 7921 Main St., Fogelsville. Stephen Ott, current Parkland head track and field coach will be the main speaker. There is a cost for the meal.

Sept. 4

Jewish Community Center of the Lehigh Valley, 702 N. 22nd St., Allentown, will offer a six week program titled “Adventurous Athletes” 3:30-4 p.m. for 3 year olds and 4-4:45 p.m. for 4 to 5 year olds until Oct. 23. There will be a free demo Sept. 4 for childcare families. This program is designed for the youngest athletes to test out a variety of sports. Sept. 7

The Sanctuary at Haafsville will hold a wine and ice cream fundraiser noon to 5 p.m. with Sleepy Cat Urban Winery and The Udder Bar at 1840 and 1852 W. Allen St., Allentown. Sleepy Cat will donate $1 for every bottle of wine purchased and the Udder Bar will donate 10% of the ice cream sales. There will be a basket raffle and weather permitting, adoptable cats and dogs will be on the premises. The first 50 guests will receive a cat and/or dog bag.

Sept. 8

Jewish Community Center of the Lehigh Valley, 702 N. 22nd St., Allentown, will hold a seven week scrapbooking after school enrichment program for kids in second through eighth grades 5-6 p.m. Mondays until Nov. 10.

There will be no class Sept. 22, Oct. 6 and 13. Each week, participants will explore a fun new theme – from favorite animals to family adventures – and help kids design personalized scrapbook pages using paper, stickers and more.

Sept. 8

The JCC’s 10 week Fairytale STEAM for kids ages 3-5 will take place on Mondays from 3:30-4:15 p.m. until Nov. 10. Fairy tales aren’t just cute stories; they are engaging worlds full of fun characters and life lessons. In this class, participants will read a familiar fairy tale and then test different parts of the story using STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). Sept. 23

Emmaus Garden Club will present “Bounty In Bloom,” a club flower show 2-7 p.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church, 3002 N. Second St., Emmaus. This event is free and open to the public.
