His family made a donation for upgrades to the borough basketball court at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St. A dedication ceremony is scheduled for Aug. 22, with a free throw contest in Winch’s honor set for Aug. 23. The contest is open to the community.

Winch stands with head basketball coach Robert Deibert after scoring 1,000 points. He would graduate with 1,396 points.

Winch is a member of the CHS Class of 1970.
