Exhibit floor volunteers bring their passion, skills and special talents to work closely with Da Vinci Science Center staff to provide a fun, engaging, inclusive, science experience for visitors - encouraging and assisting them as they interact with exhibits. They engage in varying roles such as greeting and directing visitors, engaging interest in exhibits and showing touchable objects and pocket science. A Perfect Fit Resale Boutique Sales Associate is needed at the YWCA Allentown/The Perfect Fit for Working Women. Various shifts are available. Be the friendly face that helps support YWCA Allentown’s mission. As a resale boutique sales associate, volunteers will play a key role in creating a warm, welcoming environment for shoppers and community members at The Perfect Fit Resale Boutique. This volunteer opportunity is perfect for anyone who enjoys retail or working with people, or wants to support a great cause in a stylish setting. Key responsibilities include: provide exceptional customer service and assist shoppers as needed, help create a friendly, inclusive and positive shopping experience, support light housekeeping tasks to keep the boutique tidy and inviting and assist with restocking merchandise and organizing displays. Kirkland Village, a Presbyterian Senior Living Community, is looking for volunteers aged 18 or older who enjoy spending time with the elderly. Volunteers can assist with transporting residents to and from activity programs and events, provide friendly visits, take the hospitality cart to residents on the skilled nursing unit, take residents outside on warm weather days, assist activity staff with activities or if comfortable - run your own activity programs for residents. Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley is always looking for ways to have fun, learn and grow both in and out of the classroom but often times don’t have the necessary space, materials or guidance to do so. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley has started a new after school mentoring program called STEAM Club and with the help of friendly and dedicated community volunteers, kids can continue to grow their curiosity and have fun beyond the classroom. As a volunteer mentor, you can help elementary school students learn more about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) concepts, have fun and inspire the future leaders of the Lehigh Valley! STEAM Club takes places 3:30-5 p.m. Thursdays at the BBBSLV Youth Mentoring Center in Allentown October through May. Volunteers are asked to attend twice a month, and you can select which weeks you attend. Getting started is simple; visit https://www.bbbslv.org/.
New for January 2026! STEAM Club will also take place 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesdays so you can choose to volunteer Tuesdays or Thursdays. Complete your volunteer enrollment process during the summer so you are set to volunteer when the 2025-2026 school year begins.
Volunteer to assist residents in getting to in-house clinic appointments at Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. This may involve pushing residents in wheelchairs, Broda chairs or simply walking alongside a resident and engaging in conversation while making sure they arrive to the clinic area safely. The Roasting Ears of Corn Festival is celebrating 45 years. Museum of Indian Culture in Allentown is excited to host Pennsylvania’s oldest Native American festival Aug. 16-17. Many hands are needed for this important fundraiser, beginning with various setup chores and culminating with various festival positions Aug. 16 and 17. Minimum age to volunteer is 16 with adult. Drivers are needed to take elderly/and or disabled people to doctor appointments and grocery shopping. Members receiving services can enter and exit a vehicle independently. A Primary Care Community is a group of about five volunteer families who come alongside one specific family to help meet physical, financial, spiritual and emotional needs. The Salvation Army Foster Care & Adoption Services needs volunteers to commit to serving from 6 months up to 24 months with their specific family.
