Stanley R. Borzage

of Schnecksville

Stanley R. “Stan” Borzage, 85, of Schnecksville, died peacefully July 31, 2025, at his home. He was married to the late Margaret R. (Sweeney) Borzage for 60 years. Born in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Stanley A. and Hilda (Kreisl) Borzage.

A 1958 graduate of Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Md., he went on to become one of the last of the modern-day cowboys: a truck driver. During the heyday of trucking in the 1970s and 1980s, he, a proud Teamster, hauled bulk freight for companies including Highway Express Lines, Maislin Transport, Roadway Express, Yellow, St. Johnsbury, Red Star and Consolidated Freight. He transported everything from cattle to missiles, from Canada to Florida to the Midwest, he knew the roads of this country like the back of his hand. He especially loved his routes to Montreal, Buffalo, Rochester and Albany, and passed on his love of New York to his family.

His greatest joy and achievement in life were his grandsons – attending every practice, game, swim meet and college move-in. He never missed a moment. Known for surprise deliveries of their favorite foods at any hour, he was always just a call away.

He loved the Chesapeake Bay, blue crabs, soft shells, oysters – and of course, the Washington Redskins. A passionate saltwater fisherman, he especially loved going out for stripers and tuna.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Orefield.

He is survived by his daughter Tracy; son-in-law, Danton Delans; grandsons, Wyatt C. Delans and Wesley D. Delans; sister, Nancy (Borzage) Carroll; cousin and best friend, Alfred Battisti (Carole); many cousins, nieces and great-nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Richard E.

The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
