Catherine E. (Messinger) Geiger, 93, of Slatington, died Aug. 7, 2025, at the home of her daughter, Karen with whom she was residing. She was the wife of the late Bruce R. Geiger. Born in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late Warren A. Messinger Sr. and Florence (Thomas) Messinger.

She was a graduate of the former Slatington High School, Class of 1949. She was a food service worker at the former Neffs Hotel and the former Handwerk’s Restaurant in Slatington before retiring. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Slatington.

She is survived by children, Brian K. (Debbie), of Slatington, Karen J. Parks (Gary), of Slatington, Bonnie K. Rodgers (Karl), of Lehighton, Michael B., of Altoona; brother, Ronald Messinger (Carol), of Virginia; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Dawn I. Herman and brothers, David, Clifford and Warren Messinger.

Funeral services will be held 7:30 p.m. Aug. 14, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Family and friends may pay their respects 6:30-7:30 p.m. before the service.
