Upper Macungie Twp youth learn about emergency services at summer camp

Upper Macungie Township youth attended a youth emergency summer camp during the week of July 14-18.
The campers were introduced to all the emerging services available in the township including fire, police and EMS.
The program was held at Upper Macungie Township Fire Station 56.
The training included classroom instruction on such subjects as vehicle stops by police, suicide intervention, fire tactics and safety as well as providing basic EMS activities such as learning cardio-pulmonary recitation, bleeding control and basic first aid.
Instructors included Upper Macungie Township Bureau of Fire members, police officers, Cetronia Ambulance EMTs and paramedics, Lehigh County sheriffs and officers from adjacent communities.
