A Macungie man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison “for transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and accessing with intent to view child pornography,” according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, dated July 28.

George “Travis” Woodfield, 41, was sentenced to “360 months in prison and lifetime supervised release,” according to authorities.

The news release detailed the case as follows:

In November 2018, Woodfield drove a child, 11 years old at the time, across state lines to New York City for what is described as “an overnight trip to engage in sexual activity with the child.”

“During the trip, Woodfield sexually abused the child in their hotel room,” according to the news release.

Authorities also described Woodfield as having “accessed numerous depictions of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct” between September 2015 and July 2024.

Woodfield was indicted by a federal grand jury in December 2024.

He pleaded guilty in March.

The news release was issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, which is based in Philadelphia.
