The Upper Lehigh Lions Club held its annual Roar with the Lions festival July 26 at Neffs Grove, Neffs.
The grove was filled with fans of the ever popular band The Large Flowerheads, a group reimagining music of the 1960s and 1970s.
Though rain and thunderstorms had been forecast for Saturday, it turned out to be a very warm but dry evening.
While the Flowerheads performed, members of the Lions Club sold food from the kitchen.
According to the Lions web page, “Lions Clubs International connects 1.45 million men and women in over 208 countries and territories who work together to benefit communities around the world. Known for working to end preventable blindness. Lions participate in a vast variety of projects that range from cleaning up local parks to providing supplies to victims of natural disasters.”
Locally the Upper Lehigh Lions Club uses their funds to support local nonprofit organizations.
Funds are gathered from events such as Roar with the Lions, the annual craft and vendor show, providing food at the Schnecksville Fair and Parkland High School football games.
