To the Editor:
I’m hoping a whole lot of taxpayers see this and come to the school board meeting. Many don’t know that the school board already raised your taxes 40% in the last 10 years. Some of this was in response to increased enrollment but since then the number of kids in school is actually about 80 less than last year.
Yet the board wants to find or build room for more fifth graders. This is nonsense. You have less kids but need more room.
You were all elected to find solutions to REAL problems so divide up one of the 10 gyms or figure out a solution that DOES NOT cost $90 million.
To you it may be numbers on a spread sheet but to many seniors it is a hit to their fixed incomes. Your real job is education, not bricks and mortar.
Fix the terrible reading and math scores from last year before anything else.
